For a lot of people, going on a spa day means ringing to book a spa treatment or two, then pitching up and enjoying them throughout the day, maybe taking a break for something to eat and drink. You would be surprised though, just how many people get their timings all wrong and sometimes end up ruining their whole day. Here is some advice on when you should book each treatment type for.
Massage - if you can book you massage treatment for the beginning of the day, you’ll likely enjoy it a lot more. This is when the therapists are most fresh and the quality of the massages will likely be a great deal better than if you had them later in the day after the therapists have already worked on a handful of other people. Additionally, a massage will set you up perfectly for the rest of the day as you will have had all the stresses and strains iron out of your body.
Facials ? The most important thing in timing facials right is having them after you?ve used the wet-side spa areas. Health spas often use products in their treatments that boast a very high quality and do their most good when they are not washed off straight away but instead left on to soak in. The last thing you want to be doing is jumping in the pool right away and washing them all off before they get a chance to work their magic
Nails ? If you choose to get a manicure of maybe a pedicure, these should be done last thing in the day. Its usually the case that the better nail polishes have longer drying times. With this in mind, nail treatments that are done early on can suffer from picking up imperfections as the day goes on and you have other treatments. Additionally, the chlorine in the water can sometimes break down the nail polish or change its colour, so get your swim in beforehand.
